Q – What is Wagestream?

A – Wagestream is a system which allows you to access a portion of the money you have already earned before pay day.

Q – Why is RHN using Wagestream?

 

A – The RHN is currently implementing a new HR/Payroll/Rostering System – generally referred to as “People Data System”.

 

RHN is implementing Wagestream initially to support you in the transition to monthly pay. Wagestream will also allow you with other financial services.  You can find out about all the benefits in detail by following the link provided above.

 

The rationale for introducing a monthly pay roll is to make our finance operations more efficient and less costly. We are standardising our payrolls into a single monthly pay cycle.

 

 

Q   - Who can use Wagestream?

 

A -   When fully implemented, all employees of the RHN will be able to use Wagestream.

 

If you are employed on the RHN Bank you will be able to draw down your earned bank wages.

 

If you are employed as a permanent staff member who also who has been working Bank shifts during the last six months you will be also be able to drawn down on your earned Bank Wages and also some of your earned permanent salary. You will received more details about drawing down in a further communication.

 

 

Q – When will Wagestream be live?

 

 

A –  As a Bank Worker, your final weekly pay through current payroll for shifts worked from  24 to  30th March 2025, will be paid on 4th April 2025

 

You will be able to enrol into Wagestream from 1st April 2025. You will be able to draw down on wages earned on shifts worked from 31st March 2025 to 6th April 2025 from 7th of April.

 

The date to enrol all employees into Wagestream will be announced as soon as the preparation work is progressing and the system is ready for enrolment of all employees.

 

Q -  How will I access my wages on Wagestream?

 

 

A – You will receive an email directly from Wagestream inviting you to download the App.

The App is free to download.  Once you have downloaded the App you will follow the instructions how to enrol which can be found at the link provided above.

You are advised to enrol as soon as you are invited to do so to enable Wagestream to complete actions behind the scene to complete your enrolment.

Q – How much does it cost to use Wagestream?

 

 

A - Each transfer incurs a fixed transaction fee of £1.95.  However the RHN wishes to support its employees and will pay for 3 transfers per month for Bank Staff who used to receive their bank earnings weekly until 30 September 2025 with a view to extending this further in the new financial year.

 

 

Q – Will I continue to receive a weekly payslip?

Will Wagestream impact my salary at the end of the month?

 

 

A – From 1st April 2025 you will receive a monthly payslip, one tax office for both substantive and bank roles, giving much better visibility of your earnings and only one tax office to deal with for queries.

Please refer to the Payslip Section of the Wagestream Space for more detailed information about your pay concerns. This will be available to you from next week.

 

Q – How will drawing down my earned wages affect my final monthly salary?

 

A – Any sums of money which you have drawn down early through Wagestream will reduce the amount of money you receive at the end of the month.  Therefore it is important that you are mindful of this when drawing down earned wages before payday.

 

Q – Where can I get help at the RHN?

 

A - Please contact Payroll in the first instance if you have any questions about your 2025 payslips.

Q – I am a manager, what should I do?

 

 

A -  Please continue to approve shifts worked by employees in a timely manner; RHN recommends that this should be done on a daily basis.

The employees accrue hours worked and these appear on the Wagestream system once you have approved all shifts on Putney Roster. 

The Temporary Staffing Manager (Mandy Dearling) will support managers and charge nurses.

Shifts worked and approved will be synchronised between the RHN system and Wage Stream every 4 hours. 

 

Q - How much of my pay check am I allowed to put into the savings?

 

 

A - This is a matter of personal choice and circumstances.

Wagestream recommends 20% as a starting point.

 

 

 

Q - Will my savings be safe?

 

 

A – Savings up to £85,000 are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme
